Immediately next to the domed church, there is the café-restaurant-theatre Het Verenigingsgebouw (The Society Building). This is an impressive listed monument from 1922, which was originally built to provide entertainment for the staff of Veenhuizen. You can go to the cheerful restaurant with grand-café or to the patio for lunch or dinner or if you feel like having a coffee with pastry, a beer or a cocktail. The taps flow with beer from Maallust, which is brewed a just few doors down. The patio is wonderfully sheltered between the domed church, sexton’s residence and Klein Soestdijk, the former director’s residence.
The Society Building is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 am.
