Stay in an old warden’s residence – you can choose from one of the five vacation homes on the grounds of the Prison Museum. You can choose a cottage for two, four, or six people. Each cottage is furnished differently, but they are all spacious, bright and comfortable. The original details were preserved as much as possible in the restoration. The five warden’s residences date from 1823 and overlook the Oude Gracht and the courtyard of the former Tweede Gesticht (Second Asylum) – a unique location with a fascinating history and an excellent starting point for a visit to the beautiful monuments of Veenhuizen.
