The museum restaurant of the Gevangenismuseum (Prison Museum) is located in the former Tweede Gesticht (Second Asylum) of 1823. You can have a drink or enjoy a delicious lunch when the museum is open – in fact you can do this even if you don’t visit the museum. The restaurant is spacious and bright and has a sheltered patio in the courtyard of the square-shaped asylum. The history is tangible here, but with a cold drink you stay in the now.
The Prison Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.
