Maallust beer

The grain mill from the time of the State Labour Institution has been given a new purpose. It is entirely in keeping with the craft tradition of Veenhuizen, but… with a wink. Where alcohol was a forbidden drink in the colony, today beer is brewed in the former grain mill, in impressive copper kettles.

The Maallust Brewery is an initiative of a group of ‘tough guys’ with a love for beer and for Veenhuizen. Thanks to them, Veenhuizen now has its own special beers, with both high and low fermentation. The tasting room and the patio, have beers such as Tripel, Blond, Vienna and Weizen on the menu.

Maallust Brewery is housed in the Maallust complex. This contains a number of historical monuments, such as the old dairy and the mill, which have been finely restored and given a new purpose.

A special place to drink a special beer.
